Deliverables: 10 x Destination cinematic VR experiences
Project Description: South African tourism caught onto the power and benefits of using virtual reality early on to give people a memorable experience of South Africa. They were looking for a way to entice more people to come to South Africa. They wanted a way to give people a feel for South Africa without them actually physically being there. Using virtual reality headsets with cinematic 360º video experiences content became the obvious choice. Working alongside SAT’s advertising agency FCB Africa we created a series of experiences that showed off what South Africa has to offer. The virtual tourism experiences took the viewers on a magical journey to see breathtaking landscapes, up close wild animals, a cultural bike ride through Soweto and dinner under the stars at a private game lodge and more. 10 different immersive experience were created. The whole process took about 12 weeks to complete in total. It was a tall order but one that was accomplished successfully on time and budget.
